QNU - On the morning of October 2, 2019, the International Workshop on Human Resource Management took place at Quy Nhon University (QNU). This was the summing-up workshop of the HR4ASIA project. The project “Strategic Human Resource Management for Southeast Asian Universities-HR4ASIA” (HR4ASIA for Southeast Asian Universities) is funded by Eramus + (European Commission) program to contribute to the reform of post-secondary education structure in Southeast Asia. The project aims to improve the human resource management at some key universities in the region (Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand).

The workshop attracted 32 participants from 11 universities/ organizations from 7 countries
The 2-day workshop with many sessions was attended by Prof. Bui Van Ga, former Deputy Minister of Education and Training. On the side of QNU, the attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Ngoc My, Rector of QNU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Ngoan, Chairman of the University Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Tiến Trung, Head of the Science & Technology, International Cooperation, Dr. Ha Thanh Hai, Head of the Personnel Department. In addition, the workshop was attrended by 32 delegates, representatives from 11 universities/ organizations of 7 countries (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Italy, Portugal, Lithuania). The Workshop attracted a lot of media interest such as VTV8 - the Phu Yen –based national television channel of the Central region and the Central Highlands, Vietnam News Agency, the Tuoi Tre and other newspapers and radio stations in Binh Dinh.
The University of Danang is the Coordinating Unit of the HR4Asia Project, funded by the European community for 810,985 EUR. The project is implemented for 3 years, from 2017 - 2019 with 12 member partners, four of which are Agora Knowledge Management Academy (Spain), de Évora University (Portugal), Siena University (Italy), Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania) and 8 Asian universities, which consist of Prince Songkla University, Thammasat University (Thailand), Royal Phnom Penh University, SvayRieng University (Cambodia) , National University of Laos (Laos), QNU, Danang University (Vietnam) and the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training.
Signing the Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of the Human Resource Management Network
The project has 3 goals, namely:
- Building human resource management capacity for a number of higher education institutions in Southeast Asia;
- Improving strategic plans for human resource management aiming to human resource autonomy;
- Establishing the Network of Human Resource Management as a regional forum to exchange knowledge and experience in effective human resource management.
With these goals, the Project introduces the model to some South East Asia educational institutions with the aim of developing the most advanced human resource management practices, with a focus on comprehensive skills, such as reception and self-study; improving the quality of human resource management for Southeast Asian universities by offering short-term training courses in developing and implementing human resource management strategies, as well as building a network of links between universities to share experience and information related to human resource management among members under the support of European universities.
